Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the concept of prepared improvisation, a structured yet flexible approach that blends thoughtful course design with real-time responsiveness to the evolving needs of students.

I use improvisational strategies to foster active learning by promoting dialogue, encouraging exploration, and creating a supportive environment where students feel safe to take risks and learn from failure.

My goal is to meet learners where they are and guide them toward deeper understanding through active engagement and lasting skill development.

“The thing about improvisation is that it’s not about what you say. It’s listening to what other people say. It’s about what you hear.” – Paul Merton
